My customer briefly mentioned he would be out of office due to a death in the family (wife's uncle).
How do you respond to something like this? Should I respond with nothing, or "sorry for your loss" or "my condolences to you and your wife"? |
| If we're talking I'd say "I'm so sorry to hear that". If it was email I'd say "I'm sorry for your loss". Then move on. It does not matter that it's a customer. |

Very true, however I noted that it was my customer due to a superior status and the formal nature of our relationship. Yes via email. |
