Sex and IVF

I understand no unprotected sex. I'm on day six of stims. I'm trying to figure out when to have sex before the transfer. I know you aren't supposed to orgasm after the transfer but I fear that if I don't have sex before the transfer then I will end up orgasming during my sleep post transfer! How have others dealt with this?

Do you try to completely avoid sex during stims AND pre and post transfer??

Why would you think that you would have an orgasm in your sleep if you don't have sex? This is literally the oddest thing I've read on here in a year and a half.

Why would you think that you would have an orgasm in your sleep if you don't have sex? This is literally the oddest thing I've read on here in a year and a half.

So if I go three weeks without an orgasm there's a good chance I will have one in my sleep. I guess I just have a high sex drive! I am not the only woman I've heard of having this happen. Thanks for understanding.

Actually, this happened to me at my last FET. Had to start progesterone suppositories 5 days before my transfer. Had an orgasm in my sleep the night of the transfer (same day as transfer). I'll always wonder if that's why it failed (though probably was not the reason).

The PP you quoted. They told me no orgasm for 5 days after transfer, if that helps your "planning" .

This happens to me in my sleep too if it's been too long. I don't think it's weird. I'm not 100% sure I orgasm, but I do have vivid dreams and wetness.

It is actually quite common for women to orgasm in their sleep in the weeks after IVF transfer. Anecdotally, it seems more common in women who turn out to be pregnant.

I really wouldn't worry about this.

There is so much about IF that is miserable, but I am thrilled by this post because while it is an issue, hurrah for having an orgasm! I am pretty sure I had an orgasm in my sleep during one of my cycles, but I can't remember if it was the one that worked or one of the canceled or what not. OP, I am sending you my absolute best wishes for your cycle!

This happened to me after my retrieval. We did a freeze-all, so it was not the progesterone for me.

I only had an orgasm in my sleep when I was pregnant. So maybe if that happens its a good sign.
