Dirty secret...PP is making up dirty little secrets. |
Can you cite the source for that? |
| I sincerely hope you’re right and they don’t go back until it’s safe p |
They didn't believe kids were immune. They didn't know and the majority of cases were adults. It was only common sense it would hit kids and mutate. |
I would think for all new buildings this is true but there is no way that the older buildings have been retrofitted. There aren't fans in the two schools we've been at. Its been pretty miserable in the classrooms at different times. Report to who? MCPS? If they cared they'd fix it. Until all the schools are fix, the nice new W school (and a few others) will not get to return as we return as a county, not individual schools. It's not mutating substantially and no one ever said kids were immune. The thought was always that kids are less likely to develop serious complications, which remains true. There as also a thought that kids were less likely to pick-up and transmit the virus. But, that's only true for kids younger than 10. |
There are multiple stains and we now have cases of reinfection. Kids under 10 absolutely can catch and share it. |
Yes you can. Spending per student is lower in Washington County. MCPS has more money, more staff, and more resources. |
Like.. every other county in MD. Some of which have already opened. |
| Germantown to Hagerstown is under 1-hour drive. THey've been open for some kids for over a month. One of the worst-funded school systems in MD can pull this off, but one of the best-funded systems in MD cannot. |
Our schools aren't comparable. So, what exactly can we do to safely reopen? How do you ignore the schools that already have multiple issues and don't have an HVAC and have a boiler system? How do you ignore over crowded classrooms that already don't have enough seating? |
THen, move there. They have 22,000 kids in the entire county. Big difference. |
How so? How many actual schools do they have? |
I'm so proud of MCPS leadership for following the science and public health experts and keeping us and our children safe. |
The president is and his henchmen, many post here apparently, are now pushing for herd immunity. This means open everything and let the bodies pile up. |
