Shutdown Rhetoric

Also, what happens to the elderly dependent on social security? Does direct deposit of the checks continue? I sure hope the Dems are not putting the interests of illegals ahead of poor, elderly Americans. Even one skipped month means these old people might not eat.

Social security checks will still be sent, the mail will still be delivered and the military will still protect our borders.

That said, 75% of Americans support DACA. So your opinion is part of the 25% minority.

A tweet for all occasions.

McConnell then throws up his hands and waits for Trump to indicate what he will sign.

This was the deciding factor. Waiting to see what the president wanted.

The president wanted to shut the government down.

I didn't say I didn't support DACA kids remaining here - with conditions. My problem is that the Demicrats used the power of a government shut done to push what's best for illegal immigrants, even though it would be harmful to Americans. Should have had nothing to do with the bill, and it just proves that they care more about illegals than they do about citizens. That was my point.

You have it backwards. The congress could have run a clean DACA and a clean CHIP anytime in the last 4 months and chose instead to use it as a football. Given what happened to the promises made to Republican Senator Collins, why would anyone believe "promises" when they can take action. The overwhelming majority of Americans want CHIP and DACA passed, so there is no reason to exclude it from a CR. None.

It’s all on the Democrats. Drain the swamp and stupid grandstanding people like Chuck Schumer

Please explain how DACA is harmful to Americans?

What’s more important illegals or American citizens? To the Dems, the answer is illegals

So you are saying the GOP Senators and Trump himself were lying when they said they supported DACA?

Keep beating the dead DACA horse if you want. Most Americans (80+%) want them protected. This argument will get 0 traction outside of the right wing safe space.

Watch the video from the White House on January 9th. Trump said, send me a bill, I will sign it. He was specifically talking about DACA. If he was willing to sign it, then there was no reason not to include it in the CR.

The fact is, he wasn't willing to sign it and he has wanted a government shutdown since May (check his twitter)

So McConnell couldn't even muster a majority vote from his own caucus and you blame the dems, because those very GOP Senators wanted the Graham-Durbin Bill.

It went from 75% to 80%+ in 3 posts, wow who are all these Americans who’s support DACA? IS this the same company that predicted Hilary’s landslide?

Shut up liberal scum and take your loser party with you. You own it, Nancy and Chuck are your leaders, and they suck. Just like you do.
