Trump to widow of Sgt. La David Johnson: 'He knew what he signed up for'

That would explain why the FBI is investigating, not DOD.

Totally shameful.

What story did he fabricate? That she is an empty barrel? That was an opinion, but accurate in my eyes.

She did not say that she "got the money" for the FBI field office because she wasn't in Congress yet when the funds were appropriated.

I have no hesitation believing that she claimed to secure the funds. I don’t trust a word she says.
I hope somebody has video of the event, because there do not appear to be transcripts. I would love for the video to come out.
She is now calling herself a “rock star” for all the attention she is getting.
Because, you know, it is all about her.

Dp. The people on this thread supporting her after she had the audacity to say I’m gonna have to call MY SON to tell him about all this attention the White House is giving me. I’m a Rock Star. I am paraphrasing here. She is blessed she is able to call her son to share her glee over her news after this. While she chose to believe the President’s words were insensitive, hers were. Sickening.

On a separate note, people are asking why the White House is so slow to react. I am a self-described empty barrel but, with 3 hurricanes, 1 wild fire, 1 massacre, enemies spreading fake news stories about allies, a decades long predator caught and new information that a FBI whistleblower is being suppressed by an NDA I can understand why news about the ongoing normal military investigation may have fallen by the wayside.

Do you not understand the rhetorical mechanism of *sarcasm*? She is mocking Trump for obsessing over her and her statements, saying he turned her into a "rock star" and implying that he is being ridiculous.

This admin is going to completely fuck up a serious crisis.

How do they turn a 5 minute condolence call into a week-long circus? Every single political move they have made here is wrong. AS SOON AS the congresswoman and the widow's mother (or MIL? can't remember) reported that Myeshia was distraught over Trump's words, the WH should have immediately apologized, said they were misconstrued, and moved on.

Don't forget he also had to squeeze in a couple rounds of golf in there. So much to do, so much. How does he ever manage?

Sadly I think you're in a minority, PP. Most people don't seem to care about the soldiers' deaths, although lots of them do get rattled if our leaders don't perform according to script in the aftermath.

AND bash the NFL and its players. That's high up on the list too. Higher than Puerto Rico, apparently.

Patently untrue.

they could be investigating due to the terrorism angle OR malfeasance by the contractor

They sometimes assist overseas when they have expertise. I didn't know they did military investigations. I suppose their expertise is useful here too.

DP. I'm just glad she was able to make use of sarcasm despite her obvious immense grief. Sometimes I find it hard to laugh and smile when my loved ones die.

I'll take that over "I alone can fix it." Because at least it was said in humor and self-deprecation.

Some other choice quotes from our narcissist-in-chief:

“No one is more conservative than me.”

“No one is stronger on the Second Amendment than me.”

“No one respects women more than me. No one reads the Bible more than me.”

“There’s nobody more pro-Israel than I am.”

“There’s nobody that’s done so much for equality as I have.”

“There’s nobody who feels more strongly about women’s health issues.”

“Nobody knows more about taxes than me, maybe in the history of the world.”

“I have studied the Iran deal in great detail, greater by far than anyone else.”

“Nobody’s ever been more successful than me.”

“Nobody knows banking better than I do.”

“Nobody knows more about debt than I do.”

“Nobody’s bigger or better at the military I am.”

“I am the least racist person you’ll ever meet.”

“Nobody knows the system better than me.”

“Nobody knows politicians better than me.”

“Nobody builds better walls than me.”

“Nobody knows more about trade than me.”

“There is nobody more against Obamacare than me.”

“Nobody is better on humility than me.”

“I can be more presidential than anybody. I would say more presidential, and I’ve said this a couple of times, more presidential other than the great Abe Lincoln.”

"Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest -and you all know it! Please don't feel so stupid or insecure,it's not your fault"

"I don't have to be told — you know, I'm, like, a smart person. I don't have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day for the next eight years."

"I am the least racist person you'll ever meet."

"Nobody knows banking better than I do."

"Nobody's bigger or better at the military I am."

"I will be so good at the military your head will spin."
