You can insist that the U.S. should not intervene in this case and still feel sorry for this "idiot" man and his family.

I'm starting to discover that in many instances where the poster is saying heartless things about a victim, or at the minimum indicates no compassion at all, that poster is liberal. Here we have a (white) college kid who did a stupid thing and will pay for it with his life, and libs seem to think he should be held responsible for his actions. But let a (black) drug dealer be gunned down as he threatens a police officer with his life, all the libs cry about him. Hypocrites.

Please, cite. Or just admit you are talking out of your ass.

I was referring to Michael Brown, obviously. Wasn't a big deal made over the fact that he wasn't robbing the store, but selling drugs?

Either way, trying to take away a police officer's gun is just as stupid as going to NK and removing a poster. Why were liberals bemoaning his untimely death (Obama even sent officials to the funeral), while they now are saying that the college student was responsible for his actions?

Obama was probably trying to allieve racial tensions.

Are you equating NK to the police officer? That we should expect violent overreactions from both?

You think liberals are calling out this kid's actions just because he is white? WTF? You are a paranoid racist nutjob.

If he were black, liberals would be singing a different story.

What would they be saying if this kid were black? Why do you think they would say anything different because of race?

Yes, they would be attributing his poor treatment to racism - and saying the NK reacted that way because he was black.

Does NK have a history of inequality towards blacks? I've never heard that previously.

Conservative here. Traveling to North Korea is like messing around on the train tracks -- a stupid gamble that might get you killed if you're unlucky. It's still sad, though.

Exactly.

No, I'm saying when there is a violent overreaction and a black kid is involved, everyone is quick to attribute it to racism. In the Michael Brown case, a white kid lunging for a cop's gun while threatening his life would have met the identical fate. Had nothing to do with race.

The point is when a young black woman makes stupid mistakes (like having five kids out of wedlock and requiring the taxpayers to support her), liberals excuse her bad decisions. When a white kid makes a stupid mistake, liberals say that he is responsible for his own actions. I'm questioning why liberals have sympathy for blacks in poor situations due to their own choices, but not for whites. It's a double standard.

What do you say when a young white woman makes a mistake like having multiple kids out of wedlock, thus requiring taxpayers to support her and the kids?

The Young Pioneer Tour company's slogan is "providing budget travel to destinations your mother would rather you stayed away from."

NP: I am very liberal and think people should do whatever they wish. However, that does not mean that what they do isn't idiotic. In this case, the guy was an idiot for going to North Korea, and an idiot of an even greater magnitude for tearing down a political poster.

It continues to amaze me that people believe NK and the fuzzy video that he stole the poster. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but to not question that allegation and the video is also being an idiot of some magnitude. Why in the world would you believe NK???

I say she is responsible for her irresponsible actions, just as a black woman. I don't have two standards.

The DPRK is not believable, but it is not irrational. It does things for its own reasons. The NORKs had some reason for singling out Warmbier. That remains an unanswered question. On the other hand, Warmbier disregarded US State Department guidance not to travel to the DPRK. He will always bear part of the responsibility in this case.

If you truly believe that dribble you typed there would have been no need for you to bring race into the matter. Of course you are not the only hypocrite on DCUM, it's pervasive throughout these threads. Is it really necessary to bring up black people when discussing a young man from Cincinnati who trekked into NK? It's like some of you people cannot keep black people out of your thoughts, your minds, your vocabularies. You bring black people into every conversation when the conversations have naught to do with black people. It's like an obsession. An evil, insidious pull to draw black people into your conversations for comparison sakes. And when you do, you always focus on the negatives as if to provide yourself with an advantage point. Try Focusing and sticking to the point of the young man who is brain dead because he took an adventure into a place that Most people regardless of race would never voluntarily go. The consequences for his adventure has been tragic for both him and his family. But it has absolutely nothing to do with black people.

Because they are brainwashed idiots. And they want to believe the worst of a young, misguided college student who comes from a "privileged" background. They hate what they perceive as privilege and entitlement

Okay. So he's just an idiot for going to North Korea

I have only great sympathy for him and his parents. Still, I do wonder why on earth they traveled there?
