This seems to be a growing trend.

What is the trend your pointing at, because kids have been reclassing for years, taking prep years, etc.

What I don't understand is why is this player suddenly a Yale player. He got no stars as a 2026 and barely played at Landon as a junior. He reclasses and plays as a 2027 club player this last year and doesn't get any bigger, taller, stronger, faster and is now magically a 4 star going to Yale? The minute he gets on campus, he'll be playing against the same guys he wasn't as good as when he was a 26. The same goes for any number of players at the reclass academies. For the majority, there's barely any upside.

Agree with this. DCE had reclassified from 26 to 27 sophomore summer. He was beyond limited in ability/production and was not a recruitable athlete. Holds back and is now going to OSU as a 27. When he gets to OSU, all those 26's will be sitting there waiting for him. In other sports, the younger kids that dominate are the one's that people look at re potential. In lacrosse, age has never been factored in re evaluations.

There's a DCE 27 going to OSU?

It may not be in the majority of these cases for reclasses, but keep in mind that some of them are reclassing back on age. Not all of them will be 19 or 20 year old seniors in high school.

If a 27 born post 6/1 2009 reclasses as a junior in high school, that would be a thin okay but that’s looong odds.

Holbrough? He's a 2008 birthday who played, like a lot of kids, as a 26 when he was younger bc of the lack of teams at a younger age. He's been a 27 for awhile.

Perfect example. Totally mid 2026 playing for a B club. He reclasses and he's all of a sudden a 4 star good Madlax 2027 player. 5'9 160 lb with zero upside but OSU gets a Taft practice player and a kid who'll roll into OSU and find the same guys dominating him again.
