Herndon club

PWSI was 11th out of 25 boys U12 teams last year, so not exactly struggling. With McLean and Loudoun out of VPSL that is two fewer local teams. Maybe DCSC is playing elsewhere next year too? It it really dumb to drive to Roanoke for a game for elementary schoolers.

Loudoun and Mclean both switched to EDP (had to leave VPSL).

Only for 11s. 12s are in Mid Atlantic Academy with most of the top teams in area.

Locally? Not a lot left if Herndon and PWSI bailed. Arlington, Villareal, VSA, BRYC, LMVSC, GFR. Not enough for a full league I guess?

DCSC is kind of a mess, who knows what their teams are doing.

How does NCSL set its divisions? With Herndon gone and looks like some other teams, looks like a lot of divisions have teams moving up even if we’re in bottom half. Wonder how many teams dropped because of travel distances-no more Fredericksburg journeys.

Herndon only had a few girls teams last year
so not really significant.

The divisions are based on performance the previous season. Top two teams move up one,
bottom two teams move down one.

AC Milan really fell apart, they are down to 3-4 teams total.

Did anyone hear from Herndon about this?

They must be ecnl-rl as they aren't listed as ncsl

Weren’t they in the bottom division last season? How would they jump to ECRL? Makes no sense.

Yes they were in the bottom division, but that was because AC Milan screwed up. They went undefeated and was supposed to move up in the division, but apparently it was too late to do so when they went back to HYS. They actually had a pretty good run last season.

Also the 2011 and 2012 girl's teams supposedly merged with Sterling's. I saw that announcement, but have no idea what that means. Supposedly both are keeping their distinct teams but it was pitched to parents as ECNL-RL. I don't see Herndon anywhere on any league's schedule. Have heard nothing.

What announcement? Where did you see it?

It was posted on Sterling soccer's instagram page. Herndon did not post anything.

“Starting in the 2025–26 season, Sterling will serve as a direct feeder to Herndon's ECNL-RL program—one of the top regional platforms for elite female….” On Sterling instagram- look at post that says “collaboration”

Seems like Herndon should focus on u little girls and boys side teams only.

They don't have enough turf practice space for the teams they had last season without trying to expand into older girls teams-we had four full sided teams on one field every practice night.

Both Herndon and Sterling's older girls teams are missing from the NCSL site.
