Most drug addicts don’t OD on purpose. So I doubt it was suicide. |
| Solo water activity when sober isn’t the safest thing, combine that with drugs and you’re done for. He fell into a K hole and drowned. |
| Ketamine in very low doses is used as a treatment for depreasion. |
That is true, but a low dose is not what was found in his system unfortunately. |
The infusion was probably administer by a professional. What he had in his system he probably got from the black market. |
| Should it have been ruled OD rather than accidental? |
From descriptions in the report, his quality of life may have been low, e.g., pancreatic fibrosis. |

we are spending way too much time thinking of Matthew Perry, a deeply mentally unwell person. Where is Sandra Day O' Connor page? |
It's here. Under Politics. Not Entertainment. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1170999.page |
Do you have any idea how many Americans live with mental health issues themselves or in their families? How many live with substance use disorder themselves or in their families? Most Americans have much more in common with Matthew Perry’s life experience than with Sandra Day O’Connor’s life experience - except perhaps the Alzheimer’s struggle at the end for her husband and for her. It’s apples to oranges, anyway, and each has been recognized. |

Addicts often have distorted thinking and since he was on ketamine for depression and used to take it daily he may have convinced himself that taking extra ketamine wasn’t ‘using’ and that he was augmenting treatment. He may have rationalized the use in some way or he may have just relapsed. Sounds like at least he died peacefully and painlessly and probably never even knew he was dying. He just went unconscious and slipped under water.
It is very hard to treat depression in someone who has used and abused many different drugs. The dopamine pathways and other neuronal networks are damaged by the illicit drug use and meds just don’t work the same. |
Point is his contribution is tiny compared to Sandra Day O' Connor. We are mourning a fictional character, Chandler, not Matthew Perry! I read his book and I think he had a lot of more problems than just alcohol and drug use. Big time narcissist |
Is that true though? Wouldn’t they have said that the ultimate cause was drowning if so? |
Not that they wouldn’t mention the drugs in that case, just that drowning wasn’t mentioned. I assumed he was dead before he went under water. |
