The twitter account gets me, as a parent. It wasn't a hidden account. It has his name on it. How did mom not see it? I check my kids social media pretty often. If I saw the violence fascinating the account would have been deleted and he would be in therapy. None of what we know as fact jibes with the sweet innocent routine she's giving in court.

How often do you go on Twitter and look for your kids names?

It hasn’t been active since 2021.

This kid must have been pretty difficult to work with in schools to get a 1to1 aide. I don’t think I have ever seen that in MCPS as a teacher.

It was never active at all. A handful of tweets, a handful of likes. But somehow that is supposed to provide a comprehensive insight into the character of a teenager.

+1 I absolutely understand a parent's love, and can empathize with this mother who seems to have sacrificed a lot in terms of community in order to attempt to give her kids a safer neighborhood and a higher performing peer group.

However, that quote was whiplash inducing for any of us who have dealt with attempting to get supports in school, or even witnessed other parents trying to get that support.

Schools do not assign one to one aides in HS for processing disorders or speech delays. They do it either because the child has needs that get in the way of self-care or communication, or because the child otherwise poses a danger to classmates.

Not comprehensive but absolutely insight. You would never see any of my boys calling a kid getting slammed to a pavement "satisfying " nor liking and tweeting kids being robbed and a melee of violence.
