Insurrection Hearings 6/28 and beyond

I didn’t watch but I follow on Twitter. Not sure what ratings have to do with this. Information is still out there.

I’d like the amateur defense attorneys here to do a thought experiment: if everything Cassidy Hutchinson said IS true, what is your defense? Anything?

According to this, Tony Oronato’s actions that day are of great interest to the committee. And Pence knew not to trust certain agents that day.

It’s very strange for a USS member to become political staff also.

You guys are missing the point of this posters link and comment (thank you 6:02) I’ll add— in addition to mounting evidence, it’s clear that an inside job was at work well before Jan 6.

From the above linked article:
Tim Giebels, Pence’s lead special agent in charge of his protective detail advised him of the plan to keep him away from the Capitol. Keith Kellogg, Pence’s national security adviser, confirmed that was the plan.

Pence: “I’m not getting in the car, Tim. I trust you, Tim, but you’re not driving the car. If I get in that vehicle, you guys are taking off. I’m not getting in the car.”

Tony Ornato, who oversaw Secret Service movements and was allgedly operating as Trump’s special political advisor, told Kellog they were planning to move the vice president to Joint Base Andrews.

Kellog: “You can’t do that, Tony. Leave him where he’s at. He’s got a job to do. I know you guys too well. You’ll fly him to Alaska if you have a chance. Don’t do it. He’s going to stay there. If he has to wait there all night, he’s going to do it.” Tony Ornato denies this conversation happened.

Very important to note: Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), was president pro tempore on January 6, 2021, meaning he can/would take on Pences’s duty. On January 5th, Grassley said that he would preside over the Senate’s Jan. 6 session because he didn’t expect Pence to be there. How could he possibly know that Pence wouldn’t be there?

Ornato also denies that he told Hutchinson about Trump’s physical altercation with Bobby Engel. Roll the tape: After Trump’s speech at the Ellipse. Hutchinson testifies that she went back to the Chief of Staff’s office. Ornato was in the hall and waved Hutchinson into his office directly across from her office. Bobby Engel was in Ornato’s office.

Hutchinson states under oath that Ornato asked her: “Did you hear what fking happened in the beast (SUV)” and proceeded to tell her.
Trump screaming: “I’m the fcking president. Take me up to the Capitol now.” He reached up toward the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Engel grabbed Trump’s arm and said: “Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing.” Trump then lunged at Engel.

Remember, Bobby Engel was there, while Ornato recounted the beast details. Engel did not confirm or deny. He also previously testified to the committee a watered down version of a disagreement between himself and Trump when they rerouted back to West Wing.

There’s so much more speculation and evidence of insider crimes. The list of pardon requests ironically had to go through Hutchinson lol. She provided a partial list in her testimony. Don’t sleep on Cassidy folks. Maybe they hired her for her pretty face, but she’s their ticket to hell.

18 U.S. Code § 2383
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

I am the one who posted that article. Thank you for expounding on it. Please note the article was written in April. The committee is on to Ornato.

The point about Grassley is absolutely insane.

The ratings of these hearings are deplorable. The vast majority of the country has moved on. This grandstanding non both sides is wasting time and money. The country has moved on and is worried about inflation, crumbling infrastructure, and high gas prices. They really do not care as much as the small minority of posters here seem to think they do or should.

Completely false. Millions are watching. Millions want accountability.

MILLIONS are not watching. The ratings do not reflect.

They are watching. They are watching streaming which isn’t recorded by the ratings.

For every 1 person watching tv I know 20 who watch later via streaming.

I watched in online. CSPAN, and the Post website.

People are definitely watching .

No one watches TV anymore. Even those who did not watch the streaming saw enough clips and read quotes from her testimony on social media. Everyone was talking about this, especially Republicans

The point about Grassley is absolutely insane.

The Grassley bit is easily one of the worst things about this. It wasn’t just Trump and Meadows and a few lackeys, which is kind of how I feel like Kinzinger and Cheney want this to shake out; the entire apparatus of the GOP was involved. Grassley isn’t some newbie like MTG (who, let’s be honest, had way more access to Trump than a freshman representative ought to have had), he’s one of the most senior Republicans. Which means Mitch knew, too.

The Hutchinson yesterday was interesting and all, and it was great to have someone under oath confirming that all publicly, but we kind of knew all that stuff too. The fact that the entire GOP was at least aware of the attempted coup and many more appear to have been involved and expected to have roles to play is just gobsmacking and isn’t being treated with near the gravity it should be.

The same way they ignore everything else. They’re like a perverse Sword of Gryffindor: they only take in that which makes them dumber and less informed and repel anything that would make them think harder or teach them something.

But his supporters are intensely interested in whether he was riding around in a Ford or a Chevy.

“The whole story rests on whether or not it was a V8 or a straight eight! This is the crux of the story!!”

The car that made these two, equal-length tire marks had positraction. You can't make those marks without positraction, which was not available on the '64 Buick Skylark!

Brilliant!

Wrong. Nielsen +7 accounts for streaming.

No one I know on the left or right is watching nor do they care one bit!

You can keep telling yourself that until the cows come home but it simply is not true. I and everyone I know cares deeply and is following the hearings. Polls prove you wrong.

We are the suburban mothers who catch up on news when we can. We are also a major voting block.

You are part of a small website on the net. You don’t represent the majority of the country which does not care. They are a much bigger voting bloc.

Keep inflating your self importance if it makes you feel better.

Honey, Americans care. You’re the one who is living in fantasy land. Turn off Fox.

Unless a Repub is a Trump crazy, they usually don't want to look unpatriotic or worse yet, like they were conned.
If there is enough evidence, you will see a swing away from Trump especially with bulldogs like DeSantis waiting in the wings
No one is going to outright condemn him, but will turn their back on him.

We don’t believe her testimony one bit. She has proven to have been lying and sharing hearsay. She is not a credible witness. She is well rehearsed and well polished but nothing but a BS artist.

Cultists reflexively dismiss any source of information that undermines their leader.

I love the people attacking Hutchinson like she's as liberal as AOC. LOLOL.

She was part of the inner circle MAGA, a$$hats. She's only being attacked now b/c you don't like what she has to say.

+1. Here is a woman who worked like 30 feet from the Trump Oval Office being questioned by a wildly conservative Republican Representative who happens to be the daughter of one of the most rock-ribbed conservative Republicans of the 20th century. And the reaction of the Trump cultists is to call them a couple of liberals.
