Did it take you weeks, months? Please share. Also how did you learn of the job opening?

I was already planning on relocating in January. Started applying for jobs in September. I applied to about 10 jobs. I used the Indeed app for all my search. I interviewed for my current job in November and was offered the job 1 week after the interview.

Post Peace Corps, it took me 1 year to find work. I was in a market that limited me to just nonprofits. I needed something more so I relocated here to DC and got a job with Fed. I applied to 8 positions, was interviewed for 2 with no offers. Found my current job through a Peace Corps Job fair. Interviewed on the spot and it took 8 months to from start to finish (background check, etc).

So a year for me.

2 months. Background checks always take the longest.

It took me 17 months of unemployment. I got connected to the hiring manager by a former coworker.

2 months. I was told of the position by acquaintances working in the organization.

A little over two years, and I'm only a temp now - not even permanent. I interviewed for a different job at this firm and then they called and said "We're not offering you that, but there's this other opportunity ..."

About 6 months, but I am underemployed. I took a lesser job to move with spouse. I'm currently looking but having a hard time. I'm 50 and I really think my age is a factor.

Bump to the over 50 years old comment. I got laid off a couple weeks after my 50th birthday and job hunting was a lot tougher than when I was younger.

18 months post layoff. Early 40s two graduate STEM degrees + MBA. Found the job on USAJOBS... Took massive pay cut and started career over.

I found the job after 2 weeks of searching. I had my first interview about 2 weeks later. I officially had the job 3 weeks later. So from start to finish about 7 weeks. I found the job online. I consider it a very fast search.
