Just like covid, this can’t last forever without devastating consequences for the economy. We still have more support for Ukraine than we had for masking or lockups this spring, but next spring it will be about the same.
Things follow the same pattern.
Russia is sufficiently weakened just like covid and so there is less and less need for zero tolerance in this regard.

The Pandemic deadly virus is a good analogy for Putin and his imperial war mongering.

Also because it speaks to the wide range of responses and beliefs about how best to respond. I favor science based responses but not everyone does: and especially not those listening to Trump/ Carson and other public figures who have been paid huge sums by the Russians to espouse their talking points.

I hope you are right that once Putin/ Russia have been sufficiently weakened that the threat is Sufficiently dealt with.

I am worried that just as when you stop taking antibiotics before their course is finished, that the infection may persist.

The European do not have a military capable of stopping a Russian invasion. Germany and France would quickly surrender to the Russians when Putin starts blowing on elementary schools.
