If you care about languages- Stokes. It looks like CMI will be easier to get in.

If you care about a good MS & HS option, definitely Stokes. It's one of the feeder schools for DCI, so your DC can get an IB diploma in addition to continuing language studies all the way through middle and upper school.

CMI is opening a middle school next year, but there is no high school option at this time.

Your chances of getting into either are pretty slim....that being said, depends on your child. What are the interested in? Artsy creative music type? Or language, structure, type?

We're a CMI family with a PK4 student and we and our daughter are very happy there. Our friends have a son at Stokes (French) and they're very happy there.

If you want language, definitely go with Stokes. Otherwise, you would probably be happy at either place.

I'd agree that Stokes will be a more difficult spot to attain--I believe last year it was siblings only for PK3, not sure about PK4.

CMI's middle school will take you through 8th grade. Stokes, as noted above, gets you through high school with the DCI feed.

Why do people say things like this? Odds are the OP is aware of the odds, it just sounds mean. Did someone pee in your cornflakes today?

CMI has 3 classrooms and Stokes has 2?

Both are really into the crunchy, healthy eating, touchy feely thing. Stokes is language - CMI is art and international.

Either would be great.

Unless you are the OP, do you know what OP is aware of?

I know and am aware that "Your chances of getting into either are pretty slim" sounds c*nty and unhelpful. Are you? Or is that your normal?

Hello-- Stokes actually has 4 PreK classrooms now. 2 for each language. Not sure how many slots are available, this year, but good luck.

At the Open house today, Stokes said for Spanish 6-7 total in prek3 and prek4, but they are not sure of the breakdown between those two grades. For French, 0 spots in both prek3 and prek4.

If you have any interest in language Stokes. I would not heed others comments about what will or will not happen via the lottery. My child got into a school off the wait list in a year where there were 10+siblings wait listed and we were a ways down on the list. I know that doesn't happen for everyone but it can happen.
