Clearly not much to say. They own a lot of land in Fairfax though.

Is this real? Just look at recent threads.... That place is sinking fast.

The high school has a good Latin program and dance program. The lower and middle schools are losing students at breakneck speed.

People in that area of NoVa don't see the need to pay 40K for Kindergarten given that there are solid public schools in that area. This affects how many kids go to middle school. They are piling kids into the high school to make up for this which drives up class sizes and decrease the quality of the product.

We are really happy in the lower school. Wonderful teachers, small class sizes, good balance of academics and character building. Expensive but worth it in our opinion.

High School is adequate/respectable if you don't get in anywhere else and want to go Private. HS will survive because not too many options available for private in No VA and not everybody gets into Potomac/SSSAS.

Lower and Middle are toast because there is a perception not worth the money given No VA schools on the public side.

I can see them closing lower and middle or at least lower and focusing on high schools where they can get rich kids that just want private and get K-8 schools to feed them there (Westminster, Congressional, etc).

That's interesting b/c Westminster's enrollment has been falling too. From what I've heard Congressional's is steady but not growing. The only other schools that may feed kids are Nysmith and Langley but those kids may have more options for secondary schools. What other schools are there?
I know there are some schools in Loudoun but that's kind of far. I don't envy their position at all.

I think of it as a JV Potomac. Seriously though if you see them at games, they make the Prep guys who shout homophobic slurs look refined. Their conduct never ceases to shock me.

I wonder how FHS' SAT scores stack up against FCPS schools.

There is a bus from the Huntington metro in Alexandria. Kids from Alexandria do attend, and many families prefer it to SSSAS or Potomac.

Interesting. FH definitely has a different vibe from Potomac or SSSAS or even Madeira. Some definitely prefer that vibe to the old school one of other NOVA privates. Huntington seems kind of far from Oakton. That must take a long time?

All the threads I have read suggest the school has been having trouble for some time. I dug up some old threads and they seem to start talking about lower enrollments in 2013.
