Tell me about Flint Hill

I think the problem began about five years ago, but has worsened over the last three or so years. It's a shame. While it was never an academic powerhouse, it did have a nice sense of community and a pretty campus.

God, I'm so tired of the FHS thrashing on this forum. There is *no data* to support this claim. Admissions officers there report record admissions candidates. Lower and middle school class sizes are healthy! This negative campaign is such folly.

Recommend you visit yourself and make your own judgement. Your child will find a place where they fit and can enjoy success.

That's absurd. The blather on this forum never ceases to amaze. Where do you get this stuff?

That's not true! If you have been to the school in the last 1-5 years you have seen the dramatic decrease in the number of classrooms per grade and the number of students in them. It's clearly in part due to Exxon Mobil moving, but it was happening before then and it continues to happen after them.

Have you been there this year? I have.

I have no dog in this fight, but the news of decreasing enrollment has been re-occurring for some time. From what I can trace, it started in summer of '13 when Exxon moved. The reports seem to come from varied posters with different styles and do not seem to be the work of one troll a la GDS CAT. There have been concrete numbers about the decrease in class size and how that affects the school.

If enrollment has picked up this year, then I am happy to hear that. But the reports coming from the school so far have been grim.

New to this forum, but the school review websites rank it highly:

Who cares about Niche. They rank all the nova privates highly which is understandable because of the high quality of education. But still, look through some old threads....

So according to that logic, we should place greater confidence in heresay and group chat than an organization that deemed it second in the state in day schools, "because of the high quality of education" ??

I had a FH 2015 grad babysit for us last summer. She is awesome. Such a nice girl. I was super impressed by her and she took great care of my kids.

She loved the school and said the kids for the most part were really nice and that there was a strong sense of community. She also praised her teachers and said that she got a great education there.

It know it's only one experience, but I think it's worth mentioning.

Simply not true, even according to Niche's own suspect data.
