Correct. This is hosted by the Ward 4 Education Alliance, which doesn't typically deal with citywide options.

Ah, so you don't inform Ward 4 of ALL of their options..just 1/2 of them.

Got it!

You're a dick. How about you volunteer your time and energy to do something if you think something is not done to your satisfaction. Easier to be flippant with the "got it" cliche from the comfort of your chair and laptop. You ARE a cliche.

I don't normally see people from Lafayette or Shepherd at Ward 4 Education Alliance meetings. It could be because the Ward 3 Education group also includes Wilson feeders.

Cute snark, but what would you actually propose they do? Keep in mind this is a group of parent / community volunteers, not a DC school lottery group.

I do volunteer both my time, energy and money. I just find it funny to see these "education expos" specifically exclude schools that are located in their Ward. Or that are options for the people living in the Ward.

It's fine - I just think these groups should be honest about the agenda.

Well, an example would be - when a charter school volunteers to exhibit they could say "yes! we'd be happy to have you" vs. "no, you are not allowed to attend"

That could be an option?

What's really odd about this - forget the charter/dcps thing - is that the meeting is being held at Takoma, which is a Ward 4 educational center and feeds into Coolidge.

So parents at Takoma, Whittier, Brightwood should go and hear about the feeders they probably can't get into and a new middle school program they can't get into?

Wait, so you don't include the largest ES schools in ward 4 because you personally don't know enough parents who have shown up at meetings? That seems pretty short-sited.

Has anyone actually been rejected by the group? Or is this all just entitled whining?
