Pelvic Floor/Stress Incontinence. What's next.

Anonymous
After 6 weeks of physical therapy, not a bit of difference. I think I'm gonna need surgery. I need some DC/VA recommendations for a second opinion. My OB/GYN seems very cavalier about the surgery and using the mesh. Says all the talk is hyped up and mesh is still a great way to go. Any folks out there who can give me their opinion?

I had very mild stress incontinence, surgery was never mentioned, also diastasis recti. I started doing hypopressive exercises, and the incontinence is resolved and the diastasis is closed (a 4+ separation of 5 years duration).

Having had surgery for this with an ob/gyn, I would NEVER let them touch me for this sort of thing.

Try Nicolette Horbach, or someone like her, for a second opinion. A uro/gyn surgeon who doesn't rush to operate. But if she does, will do a good job.

Did you have someone show you how to do these properly? Any recommendations?

I purchased some videos from Kasia and a book from another group.

See if you can find a Maya Uterine Massage therapist if you are looking for another alternative to surgery. I had a stage 3 prolapse, and my gynecologist thought it was worth a shot but didn't know anything about it. She was supportive of me in the "no harm in trying" kind of way. But it ended up totally correcting itself. this was already three years ago for me. There were some excersices I had to do at home, and maybe once or twice a year now I go back if I feel symptoms coming on. Good luck with whatever path you choose.
