Cause of excessive facial hair on women?

Anonymous
I noticed one stray coarse stray hair on my chin when I turned 30. Now I am 34 and I have noticed that I have more 'peach fuzz' on my face than I ever have. Also, I noticed that it makes my face feel ruff. does anyone know which hormone causes this, if a hormone causes this?are there any remedies that anyone has tried to at least soften the hairs on the face?

PCOS can be a cause of excessive facial hair on women

anything other than that? I know I do not have PCOS. however, I did not finished the testing for PCOS. So, I guess it is possible.do you know what hormone causes it? The peach fuzz that I am referring to is rough but not like the one of my chin, if that helps.

excess estrogen caused by obesity can cause it

I am definitely not obese. I am 5 foot 1, and I weigh 135 pounds. so, slightly healthy, but not overweight by any means. I have been told since I was a teenager that I was estrogen dominant. however, I do not know if that is still the case.

imbalance in testosterone, prolactin or other hormones. But I think with age most women do get more hair. And then after menopause they start losing it.

You're not obese but please be aware your BMI is in the overweight category. I'm 5'1 myself and certainly not thin at 124 lbs.

That aside, it would be worth mentioning to your MD and having a blood test as a part of your checkup.

At 5'1" and 135 lbs. you are most definitely in the overweight category.

well technically I am almost 5'2. I also have breast implants which tripled my breast size and I was already naturally A
a C Cup. therefore, it puts me in a normal weight range based on my BMI that I had to recently have done for insurance at my doctor's office. with that being said, I'm still not sure which hormone is the culprit. The only thing I can find online areandrogens.

I am NOT trying to challenge my weight. I am seriously looking for an answer to my question based on genetics, or hormones, or maybe something I don't even know about. I'm just being honest about my size. obviously, I am not here to boast or make myself look better than anyone else. I just posted one of the most embarrassing things a woman could post.

It's normal. Just wax.

Facial hair from PCOS is darker than peach fuzz, more like male beard hair texture.
