Dorothy Height School?

I understand that this is a new school. Does anyone know anything about it? Seeking options for a PreK4 year old.

Thanks!

It's one of the old CAPCS schools. Google Ken Amos. Then stay away

It was CAPCS until they got shut down for corruption, or whatever Kent Amos did. Then DCPS took it over, but DCPS has been unclear about what will be going on there long term.

There are some much better options nearby - both DCPS and Charter.

Woah! There's a whole book on this guy! Thank you!

C'mon. Judge the school on how well, or poorly, DCPS is running it, not based on the actions of people who were (correctly) defenestrates a year ago.

Ok. The performance was mediocre, at best, and they retained the same principal.

The student body is almost exclusively from MD and the facility a parking lot that takes up half a block in Truxton Circle.

Pretty sure Kaya would close it if that were politically feasible.

They did not retain the same principal. The current principal was not the principal of the entire school when it was CAPS. She was in am administrative role, or a dual principal situation.

Different campus. The Height school is in NW (Brightwood?) area across from Roosevelt HS.

Do your children attend? Because my colleague's kid (DC resident) goes to Amos 1 and said this is untrue.

Hello All,

I am the principal of Dorothy I. Height ES. It would be my pleasure to speak with any parents and offer a tour of the school to those interested in knowing more about our great school. There are wonderful things happening here and I would love to share more with you about our school!

Thanks!

Great things happening for 1 in 5 kids at the school? Seems like the nearby schools are doing better.
