| Any Louisiana folks out there with suggestions for a place that I can (still) order a King Cake? Any good LA bakeries still taking orders for shipping by the end of Mardi Gras? Thanks! |
Whole Foods will start having tons of them. I love theirs. You just go to the store and at some point they are stacked up in the bakery. They have different flavor a - cinnamon, raspberry cheesecake, that kind of thing |

I saw them art whole foods this week.
Praline bakery in Bethesda does them , I think you have to order them. |

I love bayou bakery and suspect the king cakes are pretty good. multiple locations. |
| Related, but has anyone tried the King Cake boxed mix at World Market? I just bought it and am hoping it's good! |
| Louisiana native here and I second Bayou Bakery! Tastes like authentic King Cake to me (and I think the owner is from New Orleans). You can also order online from bakeries in Louisiana that will ship them to you but you may want something more immediate. |

What are the good bakeries in NOLA that ship?
|
| Great Harvest has the |
|
Buzz Bakery has had them in the past.
I've also shipped from Haydel's and Sucre. Both were good. |
| Bayou bakery, Second choice would be Firehook bakery. |
| Woodmoor bakery has them around mardis gras. |
Check out Randazzo's: https://www.randazzokingcake.com/categories/King-Cakes or Gambino's: http://www.gambinos.com/shop.aspx#tabKingCakes They are expensive to ship but I remember comparing shipped vs. Bayou Bakery a few years ago and shipped ones aren't significantly more expensive. |
I don't trust myself to make anything that looks much like the king cake on the box so I steer clear of those... |
Thank you!!! |
