| I have a sweet tooth and always hear about how amazing British sweets are. Cadbury and turkish delight are already on my list to try during our visit. What else should I look for? |
| Like candy, you mean? |
|
Any of the chocolate is delicious. I also like the wine gums.
The Mars bars are good - they are what we would call Milky Ways. |
Candy or desserts. Everyone always talks up their candy though. |

haha, forget about the Cadbury's and Turkish Delight! Or buy those and pack them in your suitcase to bring back.
The sweets in London are mindblowing. Lots of good macaron around, try Pierre Herme and Laduree - both French but with a significant London presence. They are also patisseries that I'd highly recommend. Patisserie Valerie and Paul are two other chains with incredible patisserie, cakes, and vienosserie. Paul make a really good hazelnut croissant. The almond croissant are good everywhere. For chocolate, I'd suggest the food hall and chocolate halls are Selfridges. They have a ton of chocolatiers right outside the food hall as you leave the cosmetics section. Fortnum and Mason also do lovely things including really intricate eclairs. There are also a ton of sweet and chocolate shops on Picadilly to explore near F&M. Most good coffee shops (and there is literally no shortage of these) will also have very good bakes. For good quality chocolate Waitrose has a very good selection (Prestat, Montezuma, Charbonnel et Walker etc) but you can buy them all the Selfridges chocolate hall. Make sure you buy a ton of Charbonnel et Walker pink champagne truffles bc they are just THAT good and make an excellent gift. Seriously I could go on and on. And this list doesn't even include desserts at restaurants. |
| mmmm biscuits (cookies). I love the buttery ones. |
| Seriously, just go to a big Waitrose and buy everything in the candy/cookie/chocolate aisle. |

I have bad news - Cadbury has been bought by Kraft and the quality of their chocolates has really deteriorated. They taste as shitty as hershey's now.
A Flake bar is still pretty good though. Also recommended - milk chocolate Hobnobs, Jaffa cakes, bakewell tarts. |
| Also, the pain au chocolate from pret a manger are very good. |
for me it would be the chutneys! not the chocolate
|
| Scones with creme fraiche/clotted cream and jam. |
| Hobnobs!!!!!!!! |
Yes, that's what I came on to say. |
Delicious--I get them here at World Market. |
| The Cadbury chocolate bars they sell in the machines in the Tube (subway) stations are amazing (I'm not kidding!). Lion bars are awesome too. I was also addicted to the chocolate covered digestive biscuits. |
