If you shower at night, how do you make your hair look good in the morning?

Anonymous
I have semi-long semi-wavy hair. I always shower in the morning. Half the time, I blow dry my hair. The other half, I put some product in and let it air dry to wavy.

My schedule has changed so that the only time I can work out is at night. This means I shower at 8:00. I have no idea what to do with my hair so that it will look good the next morning. I'd prefer not to blow dry it. Air dry and hot iron in the morning? Braids? Re-wet in the morning? Just suck it up and blow it out, knowing it will still be a bit messy int he morning? Any product recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Can you put it in a high bun overnight and then in the morning let it out and it'll only be a smidge damp?

I give it a shake and we're done. I'm serious. I'm the poster who never brushes her hair.

If you tie your hair up with elastics, it will pull more out - and put strain on your scalp, its not advised.

You could braid it though...

I put in volumizer and leave it in a bun. This is actually the only way it looks good. It looks even better if I leave it up all day, or don't wash it for 36 hours and continue leaving it in a bun

I blow it dry at night. If I don't, it's a disaster! (semi-wavy hair). I also use a drop of argan oil, which keeps it nice and shiny.

I've always showered at night, because I like to wash away the grime and worries of the day before getting into my nice clean bed.

I towel dry my hair at night, then sleep with it loose, and it's fine in the morning. I have very long, straight hair. it doesn't really tangle, even when I forget the conditioner, probably because I don't toss and turn too much? No idea, really.

Other people have recommended satin pillowcases for tangles at night. Or, you could braid it loosely even if it's still wet to avoid tangles - but only if you like the curly poufy look the next morning when you undo the braid and brush it! My daughter loves it

The plop!

I did it overnight when I had longer hair.

A spritz of water mixed with oil in the morning for a refresh.

When I do this, I blow dry at night then flat iron in the morning.

Or if I don't blow dry at night, I spritz it with water so it's a bit damp, then a quick blow dry and flat iron.

At night when its wet, I use this gel. its so amazing and I cannot believe its only $6.50.

In the morning, i use open palms to wipe some gel over the top of the hair to mat down wispies, and also using a twisting/twirl motion (picture two long pig tails) so that I don't comb my fingers thru (that would make it more frizzy).

I blow dry and straighten at night. I only have to run the straightener over a few pieces quickly in the morning. I have similar hair and find that if I wait until morning to straighten it all, it doesn't come out as nice - I have to blow dry and straighten when it's fresh out of the shower. Silk pillowcases rather than cotton help with the overnight bumps.

I let my hair dry at night and flat iron in the morning.

Generally straight hair, but getting more wave as I get older. Have almost always showered at night. It looks best when i put it in a low, lose bun and spritz with Not Your Mothers beach spray and wear down. This gets me 2 days and then a third up in a high messy bun. I can leave it lose to dry but get weird lumps from sleeping sometimes.

Air dry at night with product in. Flat iron front in am.

If I slept with wet hair in a bun all night, my head would itch like crazy all day where the wetness was. How do you ladies do that??

I can't make my hair work from an evening shower unless I get it wet in the morning and restyle.

I always shower at night. I just air dry and put on some anti frizz/shine stuff in the morning. Work with the wave, not against it!
