Hero’s has probably the best lacrosse program in the country in terms of on field success at the moment. The recruiting history tells another tale though in terms of attracting the top academic schools consistently. M&D has a better history but will be interesting to see how ‘27- ‘29 play out. I agree with the PP that Capital is the place to get recruited for top academics.

The girls getting recruited into schools with top academics are not because they are on Capital. They would get recruited there even if they played for M&D or Heros.

Most of these girls committing to Ivy League schools are above average lacrosse players, achieve top grades at private schools, and most likely come from families with high net worths. It's a nice combination to have.

And this is the typical Capital player profile.

Yeah, you are so right. Would much rather get tons of playing time at Florida Atlantic than a degree from Yale/Michigan/Notre Dame/Dartmouth etc.

The reality is, if you're not on Capital Blue, offers will be few and far between. You can get offers to some schools that don't have the name recognition, but nothing close to a Duke or Michigan. Even the back half of the Capital Blue roster will not go to top tier lax schools. They will get funneled to higher academic schools. It's highly competitive out there so set expectations.

This will largely be the case for the '26s. But for '28s, '29s and beyond, it's looking like it'll stack up quite differently.

I can tell you they paid attention to the '25s, and what that high ranked team wasn't able to do. So maybe. Aren't there still like 15-17 uncommitted Cap Blue and how is Cap Orange doing?

Most of the Inside Lacrosse Top 10 haven’t committed yet, much less the 4 and 5-stars, so your implication is just wrong. Check back in November to assess how a club’s class did overall.

I am hearing about lots of full scholarships being offered to Cap Blue players, but the players are looking for the most academically prestigious schools. I have heard that most of them do not prioritize the lacrosse ranking. They are not majoring in lacrosse, and most of them do not have plans to play professional lacrosse. At these highly academic institutions, players must meet the academic index, so they not only need to excel in lacrosse but also needthe grades to meet the academic index. If you are a highly skilled player but have low grades you will need to cast a wider net since there are too many skilled players with really high grades that will take the spot! Grades are really, really important and open the door for your player. I cannot stress that enough. I am hearing this cap blue 2026 team has one of the highest GPA of the 2026 class-- the committs so far reflect it.

I heard from my daughter that one of the Capital Blue players was unhappy with her grade on her first math quiz. Not getting off to a good start for Capital!
