I agree about W&M, there is not much to look at. The town is pretty tho.

JMU is clean and well landscaped. Stone buildings are nice. VT is nice looking. UVA is kinda dirty and drab. VCU has some nice buildings, but the areas outside campus are very urban.

To my eye, W&M and UVA are nicer campuses than JMU, VT, and VCU by some margin.

DP. Other than VCU, I disagree. I think JMU and VT are beautiful and W&M, while in need of some repair, is very pretty. UVA has some beautiful areas - and some that are not so pretty. VCU is just a city.

I teach there. It’s gorgeous. Ignore the negative comments.

Gorgeous seems like a stretch. More like very nice in parts.

The Lawn and immediate area are great. Everything else is undistinguished.

DP. You're blind. I'm an alum. It is filthy. The lawn looks completely unkempt. Kids were gone for 2 years and it still looks like a weed-infested trashed out dirt field. The buildings need to be power washed. They need more trashcans and those darn students need to start using them. It is completely embarrassing to think that I used to be proud of UVA.

Michigan State is one of the ugliest campuses I’ve ever seen.

Enjoy George Mason.

Mine would be:

W&M
UVA
Mary Washington

The environs of JMU and VT are nice, but the campuses are just okay. JMU has a highway going through it and VT has a lot of boring spaces

GMU --Some parts of GMU's campus are surprisingly lovely, others not
VCU -- Richmond has nice aspects, but VCU doesn't feel like it has a central campus

The campus at MSU is huge! The most attractive part of the campus is north of the Red Cedar River.

University of Washington is spectacular.

Are there any campuses that are truly ugly? It seems like they are all beautiful.

DP. I am there now and strongly disagree.

Most of the SUNYs are tough. SUNY Binghamton is particularly tough.
