What is the criteria for Honor Roll? Average of 90? 85? |
There is no Honor Roll in the Upper School (high school). I don't know about the Lower School, though. They do have prizes at the end of the year in the Upper School for the top student (maybe two students) in each grade as part of the overall Prize Day roster of awards. |
Private schools don't have an "honor roll." STA doesn't have one in lower or upper school. |
This quote is from the first page of this thread back in 2009. Are these points still true? |

(1) is wrong. Totally wrong. Buy the books. We have never had that happen. Don't take the books in on the first day though.
(4) boys can stay until 5:30, not 5:00. Many of the ones who stay go to STArtmart to do their homework as its supervised and they can get help. They can also study in the library but iit is unsupervised and they tend to not get as much done. There is no "aftercare" and the boys don't need notes or anything to go home with someone else. They need to be responsible for themselves. |
My STA son's report card says "honor roll" and "effort roll" this quarter. (Lower School) So there is such a designation, even if it's not publicized anywhere. I have no idea what the criteria are, though. |
They do have Cum Laud Society as seniors, and there are prizes at year end in various fields and endeavors. They do celibate excellence there, but in a for real 'proud of you' from classmates way. Its not ranked 'first to worst' but people who really excel are awarded, and their friends really do cheer for them. |
Like the Vatican? |
| A poster has a simple misspelling, and the following poster uses it as a chance to demonstrate their own anti-Catholic attitude. How lovely. |
Nope, just equal opportunity snark on my part. As a practicing Catholic myself, I am comfortable (after years of CCD, Confirmation, and membership in a wonderful Parish) that being Catholic does not require me to give up a sense of humor. Come on, "celibate excellence" was a little funny!

| the admissions director is leaving, that is true. the guy replacing him is pretty similar though, a great guy. (current student) |
| PP: My son is a current student; the new admissions director is fortunately not a current student. |
