That will really be something if they vote to stop Trump. But I’m not holding my breath.

Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski have introduced a bill to reverse the Canada tariffs.

Also WTF Trump thinks drug traffickers pay tariffs?

How does he keep topping himself with his sheer stupidity? How is he this galactically dumb?

That’s so bad. How can Trump and the GOP not see this?

And the fool keeps trying to tease his insane “liberation” day tariffs. It’s like he wants everyone to tune in to a special guest star appearance. He actually has ZERO idea of what he’s doing.

Piper Sandler: “The tariffs came in higher/worse than we’d expected, so we are lowering our 2Q real GDP estimate from 0% to -1%. And given where the big tariff hikes are concentrated -- China, Vietnam, Taiwan, etc.-- the risks to consumer inflation are much higher than initially thought.”

Vietnam? Taiwan? What do we have against them?

Trump has shocked us. We are awed. He can cancel these tariffs now. The US economy is sore wrecked.

He is doing this on purpose. He wants to tank the economy. He wants to make it bad for everyone except for his billionaire friends. And white MAGA will be fine with this as long as non-white people or woke people are hurting more.

Congress can revoke Trump's tariff privileges. They can do it tomorrow, or whenever the House bothers to RTO.

They won’t because Republicans are fine, hurting their own constituents. White people will continue to vote for Republicans no matter how much crap they shovel at them. Look at West Virginia, look at Arkansas, Oklahoma, look at MTG‘s district.

You cannot decouple racism from these policies. billionaires know that poor whites take comfort, knowing that they are still white.

And of course, not “all white” I’m a white person, but this is the reality.

Catfish farmers in Alabama, or something.

There have been antidumping cases against Vietnamese catfish. They investigate those companies’ books. We don’t need blanket tariffs.

If the US was conquered and under hostile occupation, what would the government do differently? Would an occupation government that wanted to crush the United States as a vibrant, prosperous country with influence around the world do anything differently?

Destroy foreign trade
Betray allies
By losing allies as customers, decimate the defense industry
Destroy government efficiency and capacity (and its human capital)
Vandalize and then sell off government buildings
Destroy basic research
Destroy public health
Destroy the higher education system

Maybe we are actually under a form of foreign occupation.
