Some of the AAP kids go to South Lakes via Langston Hughes

Navy doesn't feed into either of those. Only Oakton and Chantilly (very few, like 10%). Curious how it will be when they do the boundary changes.

Crossfield ES is the only elementary that sends kids to Navy for AAP. One neighborhood that goes to Crossfield sends kids to Hughes/South Lakes. Based on the number of kids that go to Navy from Crossfield, I'd guess this is 0 or 1 child every year.

I’ve never heard of this. What neighborhood is that?

Crossfield is a split feeder to South Lakes and Oakton High. The neighborhood immediately north of crossfield goes to South Lake.

See this chart, Crossfield AAP is feeding to Navy and then Carson and Hughes.

I already identified the actual neighborhood: Fox Mill Woods. It’s across from the Catholic Church off of Lawyers. They go to South Lakes.

This - it's zoned to Crossfield because it's directly behind the school and kids can walk there. I highly doubt that anyone from that neighborhood would send their kids to Navy for AAP though, when they are going to a different middle school and high school.

Correct. That’s what I said earlier too. Those parents will usually choose to stay at base for local level 4 so they can at least have some peers that may go to South Lakes. Unless they want Navy, Carson, South Lakes. Does Crossfield get Carson as their middle school AAP center?

Yes, all of Crossfield goes to Carson (AAP and Gen Ed).

CAN YOU NOT READ????? As many people have already said, there is one neighborhood at Crossfield that goes to Hughes/South Lakes.

Can you not follow threads? I posted that before others corrected me. Sorry I didn’t know that like a dozen kids go from Crossfield to Hughes. Sounds like a situation ripe for redistricting. Maybe that’s why you’re so angry? Scared?

Is there something wrong with you? I was just annoyed because you posed an incorrect thing after several people posted the accurate thing. Like you didn't read the thread before posting, and then here you are going "can you not follow threads?" Um, yes, I can, but it doesn't seem like you can. And I don't care about redistricting - my kids could stay at Oakton or end up at Chantilly or South Lakes, all of which are good high schools. Yes, even South Lakes. I know Navy parents are horrified that their children could end up at Fairfax or South Lakes, too, but chill, ladies, chill. Your kids are smart, they'll get a good education no matter where they go.

Let me break this down for your pea brain since you seem to be having trouble:

My post: 02/24/2025 10:34
Posts saying that's not accurate: 02/24/2025 18:13 and 02/24/2025 19:23

Do you understand how to tell time, or do you need to go back to second grade? I can't believe I am wasting my time responding this, but you really have some nerve trying to call me stupid when YOU are the one who can't follow a thread.

You can follow the entire thread in this post, PP. This explains a lot about Navy parents, though, and all these threads that keep popping up. You people just don't give up with the whining, LOL!

Navy already has openings for next year....I wonder why.

College grads are looking for jobs now, not in the middle of summer. Many schools probably post openings now. Early bird gets worn.

I wasn’t looking for a job yet in February when I was a senior.

And others may be different. Isn't a winter break teacher hire a recent grad?

Yes and she’s freaking amazing!!!! The kids love her - she’s so energetic and fresh and actually has the kids taking notes. We would be lucky to get more like her!!!

Agreed. Am kind of jealous we're not in that class now.

3rd grade? Happy to hear

The new third grade team is absolutely fantastic - way better than say 3 years ago.

The third grade team is phenomenal…apart from the class that doesn’t actually have a teacher now.

I have to say, I think Mr. Simms-Smith made some excellent hires.
Anonymous
He certainly did hire some great teachers at Navy!

It’s too bad he wasn’t given more of a chance.

Can someone explain why we have yet another new thread about Navy?

Someone posted that there is a new principal.
Anonymous
Yes and it should just stay in this thread.

Someone is afraid of the latest scandal getting out.

Any updates?

The truth is most of the Jon supporters have left (teachers and parents) so it’s been pretty quiet. The new principal has been welcomed with open arms unlike the last one. He seems nice.

Wait, why is the latest scandal? I am a future Navy parent (Crossfield 2nd grader/rising Navy 3rd grader)
