There is no defense and it’s been determined by FCPS not to be any cheating within the Hayfield program. However since you are complaining that they are stacking their team by bringing in players from outside the district, let’s keep that same energy towards the white coaches and white football programs.

People who try to hide behind accusations of racism are tiresome.

Could someone please explain--if everything is all settled--why several players were ineligible for the game last week?

Ineligible? Or they didn’t play?

Not listed on the current roster so probably not eligible.

There is a complete article in today’s Fairfax Times. They didn’t play because they were not eligible. Nine of the 15 transfers were deemed ineligible and will not be playing this season.

9 out and they still won by 40 ao they are legit and a strong team. Now what do you wish to complain about?

Are you for real? The coach got caught cheating with *9* players! Do you know how absurd that is?

I don't understand. Reid got up and told the hayfield parents all the transferred kids lived in hayfield boundaries, when she knew vhsl was
Still investigating?

The goal is to win by 40 every game for Hayfield. It will be interesting to see as the season unfolds. I just hope they don’t run up the score too much on Annandale like Marshall did last week.

Wow, this coach is a colossal a-hole who doesn't give a crap about these kids.

He talked 9 kids into commuting to Hayfield every day from wherever to play football for him, and now those kids are stuck commuting to a random school they have no connection to AND they aren't allowed to play football anywhere all school year?

Could someone explain to me how FCPS can claim all the kids were legitimate residents of Hayfield zone and then VHSl can find 9 ineligible to play all year? I just don't understand it.

Not sure what FCPS staff was doing for those *400* hours of intense investigation. Reid says all the kids live in Hayfield zone while at the same time, school had information on those 9 players that would make them ineligible to play. VHSL says in the article that its the school's decision.

The whole thing makes no sense.

Is the Washington Post going to post a follow up story explaining that the coach in fact, did try to cheat but was caught?

A coach trying to cheat full scale like this should be fired. He has no integrity.

What would make a kid ineligible besides the residency thing?

So does this mean that because of the coach cheating, 9 Prince William County / DC /Maryland students are ineligible to play football at Hayfield, and are now teamless? Or are they allowed to return back to Prince William County / DC / Maryland and finish their seasons at their zoned schools?

Or do they have to sit out the season, missing any college recruitment opportunities?

It would seem like the players are being punished but not the adults who encouraged the transfers.
