Taylor Swift album Tortured Poets Department leaked early?

It’s such a tragic album really. It’s clear they both were hot for each other for a long time. They have the same producer and close friend, Jack Antonoff, who helped them stay in touch or reconnect. It is likely she left Joe who she was bored with to be with Matty. Then the fans went feral about Matty being “problematic” and also her tour had just started, so it was probably too much strain on him and the relationship. But yah, those two were pining for each other for over a decade (so many clues!) and would have made the cutest babies…unlike the current jock.

The lyric “I would have died for your sins, instead I just died inside…” She was ready to stick by him regardless of public opinion and her dad’s advice (though was she really going to throw so much away?), but he was probably spooked and wanted out.

All of this. They were so great together.

Eww. He’s a heroin user and perpetually looks like he needs bath.

I get triggered when people say that all of an artist's songs sound the same, but... I'm struggling to differentiate the energy of ttpd songs because they're really... similar. I'm an old school fan and will force myself to love this album. But I was secretly hoping for more distinctive hits that you want to dance to

Ok I'm the OP. Some time has allowed me to fall in love with some songs.
For the record, I'm a 1989/Rep loving Swiftie (in that I reliably go back to those albums the most).

So Long, London (woah. I mean... it's beautiful)
But Daddy I love him (feels like old Taylor and I love.)
My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys (really intriguing. love.)
I can do it with a broken heart (the banger that I needed).

Fellow 1989 loving Swifties, what songs do you love that I need to listen to 5x more to become obsessed?

Alchemy and So High School, maybe the Black Dog.

Right. That’s why she keeps making chart-topping album after chart-topping album, sells out shows people waited hours in line for tickets for, and breaks records. Because she lacks talent. LOL. Your opinions aren’t facts.

And Stanley mugs sell out too. There are lots of things people go crazy for and stand in line for. In this case, Taylor is a trend or a craze. They aren’t paying to see her for her talent. They would stand in line and pay to see her if she just walked around and talked to them and didn’t even sing.

She has taken singing lessons and can can carry a tune but she isn’t anything special when it comes to vocals.

And many great vocalist never once wrote their own songs - is Whitney any less talented because of it? Celine? No.

So she doesn’t have their vocal talent-so what. They don’t have her songwriting talent. She’s a songwriter, a modern poet, that uses the voice she has to convey her words.

Really? No “Bad Down”?
That was an instant fav for me. But I like aliens too, so maybe it’s a me thing 😄

Down Bad?

Yes. Switch what I wrote.

She needs help and like to watch He's just not that into you. And probably read it too. She is so obsessed with these guys and they are like playing her. Except here's Travis and he's fawning her and all she can say is he's highschool playing video games. Like he's probably hurt by that deep down. She is kind of an idiot, but I guess if we all listen she's smart.

Must say, it'd be wild if Taylor took a hard turn, and ended up running off with MH. It might be the most Taylor-Swift-lyric thing she ever did.

I listened to the whole album through and read the lyrics and like wow if she is still working through these feelings now, she is going to have a hell of a ride if she ever gets married or has kids. Matty Healy was a fake and she fell for him so hard and fast he was obviously overwhelmed and didn't want to actually play house with her. The whole album is an embarrassment. After all these guys and being a "mastermind" she literally is telling the whole world to fk off so she can chase this loser who ghosted her. And now she's giving him the satisfaction of a whole album when they were just a literal fortnight. I am kind of shocked.

Crazy takeaway, but it’s what I came for!
Go off girl!

I completely agree with this take. It's such a bid for MH's attention, how does that mesh with her relationship with Travis?

She knows what her audience wants and she is giving it to them. And she’ll keep giving it to them until they are no longer interested. Then she will reinvent herself. The Taylor you see and listen to is an actress. None of us know her personally today with accuracy that she is stunted or hurt or whatever. She is simply being what her fans want her to be and it’s paying off for her.

The Alchemy is about the evening Taylor Swift played at the 1975's London show in 2023.

Jake Gyllenahall gave her 3 months and we got ATW 10 minute version so Matt Healy could give her 2 weeks and 31 tracks.

Uh yes.
She's the trophy he runs to after the show.
Matty takes his shirt off at shows.
He jokes about heroin and writes about it in his songs.
The bench warmers were other british blokes.
He's played a clown in music videos.
He wore a crown in one recent one as does she.
he called her The Queen at this concert. he's been messing around with a chess set, the King and Queen in particular on stage at his last tour.
The had a past fling (Hey you, what if I told you we’re cool?
That child’s play back in school is forgiven under my rule
I haven’t come around in so long
But I’m making a comeback to where I belong)
