ILs are going to be watching the kids for us in July. We have free flights via miles anywhere in the US. Where would you go for a couples vacation?
We have 3 and 5 year olds so are pretty exhausted and tempted by relaxation, but we like the idea of exploring a bit too. We like cities, beaches, small communities with character. Not so much into hiking or other strenuous outdoor activities. |
Do San Francisco and Sonoma. We did the last year without kids. It was wonderful and you don't see a lot of kids in wine country

Hawaii
some great hiking and great beaches all in the same place. You can be as active (snorkeling, touristy, ) or as relaxing as you want (green, white, black sand beache). Plus, it's a great destination to use airline miles. Most bang for your buck. |
Tell me more about San Juan islands. I'm intrigued... |
| Hawaii or Alaska. I've been to San Juan Islands, they are beautiful, but you don't need 10 days. |
| I think some people enjoy slow travel more than others. But you could even combine with Vancouver if you wanted. |
| San Diego!!! |
| Not PP, but I love the San Juan islands too. It's a short drive and a ferry ride from Seattle. Lots of charming shops, restaurants and orca tours. One of the islands has a lavender farm and winery. The weather is beautiful, I just love it there. |
