Just started this show tonight.

Everyone is talking about it and I have done my best to avoid reading spoilers so please help me understand a few things. Is this fiction or based on true story?

The documentary format that it is filmed as is very interesting. It doesn't seem like a fiction the way it is shot. Almost like a History channel presentation and recreation of the Steven Avery tale.
