This former TV girl is now married to an athlete. She may not be telling the whole truth about a family member.
The way she has behaved through all of this is disgusting! Her brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his early twenties. His meds weren’t working and he started using drugs to try to quiet the voices in his head. He knew he had a problem, and he asked her and her husband repeatedly for help to go to rehab, but they refused. Instead, they did everything they could to distance themselves from him. They could have helped him and they could have done so much to lessen the stigma of mental illness, but they were more concerned about their oh-so-perfect image. They thought it would reflect badly on them if people knew that there was mental illness and drug use in their family, so they just ignored him. When he disappeared, she spent her time talking to their PR people about how they could spin this so that they wouldn’t look like the bad guys. http://blindgossip.com/?p=75744 |
| Well, it's obviously Kristin Cavallari, but since when does she have an "oh-so-perfect" image?? |
| I read this and think it's a terrible blind item. She lost her brother twice - the first time to a debilitating mental illness and a second time to death. I doubt the person who leaked this has any idea of how tough it is to be the sibling. |
Agreed. and I highly doubt they refused |
| You find it entertaining to speculate over the tragic death of a stranger? Disgusting. |
| wtf is a blind item? |
|
She was probably afraid of him and any help she gave before caused her great stress. Don't ever believe the schizophrenic lie about them not being violent. My husband's best friend growing up and into adulthood shot up his house with an UZI and held his ex wife hostage for a week.
He's currently confined and is in a hospital full of ones like himself. The place reminds me of 12 Monkeys only they have their own rooms. Locked up at night, drugged during the day. Scary ass shit. |
I don't find it entertaining. I see it as an opportunity to discuss mental health issues and make a difference for people suffering from the disease. Being a sibling and family members of a schizophrenic person have challenges, no doubt. But organizations like NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) https://www.nami.org/ can help others. Talk about it. Remove the stigma. |

| Don't try to blame her for her brother's suicide. That's just beyond cruel. |
He didn't commit suicide. And who is blaming her? If she was more concerned with her image than helping her family, that is pretty shitty. |
|
How is this her responsibility? You do not know the whole story so stop accusing.
|
The implication is that if she had funded his rehab, he wouldn't be dead. So yeah, that's blame. Why is it her responsibility? Kristin is not exactly from a poor family. Why aren't you asking these same questions of them? |
| I can only say this: my childhood friend is schizophrenic and I have distanced myself from her. It's actually impossible to deal with someone with schizophrenia unless they are medicated. I'm sure the author of this blind item has no firsthand experience - they should really STFU |
| I'm definitely no fan of hers, given her ridiculous anti-vaxxing posturing, but blaming her for her brother's issues and his death ... that's reprehensible. |
