The way she has behaved through all of this is disgusting! Her brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his early twenties. His meds weren’t working and he started using drugs to try to quiet the voices in his head. He knew he had a problem, and he asked her and her husband repeatedly for help to go to rehab, but they refused. Instead, they did everything they could to distance themselves from him.

They could have helped him and they could have done so much to lessen the stigma of mental illness, but they were more concerned about their oh-so-perfect image. They thought it would reflect badly on them if people knew that there was mental illness and drug use in their family, so they just ignored him. When he disappeared, she spent her time talking to their PR people about how they could spin this so that they wouldn’t look like the bad guys.
