why were my posts deleted in this thread?

They weren't mean. They had no snark. They were on topic and related to OPs issue and offered a possible solution that works for my kids sometimes when they get out of controll (feeding them more protein type foods because they tend to act up and get hungry right before growth spurts)

The were written in a respectful, polite manner.

You left one or two other food related posts.

I am just curious and perplexed.

I'd like to know why the posts about birth control in the unexpected #3 post (expectant moms) were deleted. Not meant rudely and I've seen infinitely worse on DCUM..

Probably because you quoted a post that was deleted. I normally remove such posts. Sometimes posters are in the process of replying when I am deleting and I miss their posts.

Off topic. The OP is seeking support, not submitting herself to interegation.

Thank you for answering. I was very curious on how I crossed the line with my posts. They were exceptionally tame by dcum standars.

Huh. That's a rule very selectively enforced.

If you want to see it enforced more, report more posts.

I actually don't think it should be enforced. Discussions happen. Pretty much every thread goes somewhat off topic at some point... Like most conversations.

For a post specifically seeking support, I think it's pretty crappy to throw a question in there that will completely hijack the thread.

Except it hadn't. There were pages of posts after it. Just find this very odd as pretty much every thread goes off the specific topic.

I was one of the people who reported that thread. You can blame me, not Jeff! The tone of the posts were getting ugly, and the last few had started the same tired debate of abortion. OP had said she didn't want one, and I am following the thread closely since I am in a similar situation. I find it annoying that some posters use every single thread that has some doubt about babies to say: "abort", and then others come running to tell them how awful they are. So. I reported it. If you want specific questions answered, start a new thread, don't hijack that one. Not everyone loves wading through ugly snarky posts, especially, I would assume, the OPs of such threads.

And Jeff has made it clear many times over that he will be happy to enforce the on-topic "rule" if posts get reported. If you start a thread about bc and pregnancy (although there was JUST a huge thread about this), he'd let those posts stand.

Off my soapbox now!

It's about consistency. Here are 3 threads within the top 10 in recent topics that went similarly off topic:

In order to ensure constency, please read every post from now on and report those that are off-topic. I certainly am not going to read them all.

Obviously the point is that it happens in every thread. If you deleted them all there'd be no site. Agree to disagree I guess.
