Would love your help with rankings but please be nice...

We will be prek4 in bounds for Barnard. Please let me know if this list is totally unrealistic and, if so, what schools I should be listing instead. But, please be nice. I really can't deal with the bitter, unhelpful nonsense on this listserve.

My 1st choice is:: DC Bilingual PCS
My 2nd choice is:: Washington Yu Ying PCS
My 3rd choice is:: Creative Minds International PCS
My 4th choice is:: Bridges PCS
My 5th choice is:: Powell Dual Language
My 6th choice is:: E.L. Haynes PCS – Elementary School
My 7th choice is:: West Education Campus
My 8th choice is:: Shepherd Elementary School
My 9th choice is:: Lafayette Elementary School
My 10th choice is:: Oyster-Adams Bilingual School (Oyster)
My 11th choice is:: Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS
My 12th choice is:: Barnard Elementary School

I think your list is good - although I would drop Oyster Adams (hardly any OOB PK4 and I assume you are not Spanish speakers since YY is on your list).

Just curious why you don't have MV or IT. They are not far from YY/CM.

It looks fine. Oyster is a wasted slot, since they don't take OOB English-dominant kids in PreK-4, so if you have another school you like, you can put it in.

If I were a gambler, I would bet that you'll end up at Bridges, just judging by the way waitlists have gone the last couple of years.

It's not the least realistic list we'll see this season.

Is Barnard your in bounds school?

You will get into Bridges for sure. Why no Cap City?

Yes, Barnard is our in bounds school.

Also, Lafayette is a wasted spot, since they don't admit OOB in Pre-K.

Heard bad things from a neighbor who pulled her daughter this year but certainly open to hearing other experiences.

Trying to go with walkable or on the way to work. Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback!

Why is West above Shepherd? Better feeder pattern at Shepherd (Deal/Wilson).

Yes def would rank Shepherd a lot higher. It's a great school. Where do you work? I would move Bridges a lot down on your list or risk losing access to the others if/when you get in. They are moving campuses and will likely admit a bunch this year. Agree with PP, I imagine YY isn't walking distance did giu and if that's on the way to work (as well as Bridges), I imagine IT is not far off the path. But then you have Lafayette which I imagine is not walkable or on the way to work. I agree with removing Lafayette all together as its a wasted pick, same with Oyster.

Final:
Lower Bridges to 11th or 12th depending on how much you want Barnard.
Remove Lafayette, Oyster
Add IT, Lee and/or MV
Rank Shepherd higher
