Anyone seen "The Fall"?

I was looking for something new to watch and came across "The Fall" on Netflix. I've only watched the first episode, but I'm intrigued - I love dark shows like this and it reminds me of Top of the Lake, Broadchurch, The Killing, etc. The only thing I'm not fond of is Gillian Anderson's character. She seems like such a cold fish. Is it worth continuing?

It's great, and you will come to appreciate Anderson's performance as the layers get peeled back. She's a fascinating character.

I really enjoy it! I am a fan of Gillian Anderson, but I did find her character took a bit of time to grow on me. She quickly grew on me though! They just started filming series 3, can't wait for it to come out.

its an excellent show.but its not just dark, its quite deeply disturbing. don't watch it just before you go to sleep.

I love it. I think Gillian Anderson's character is an incredible portrayal of a strong, intelligent woman who neither cowers to male colleagues nor seems unreasonable. I felt uncomfortable in the beginning, but then I realized the character challenged all the portrayals I've been used to seeing for years. I think it's groundbreaking.

Also, I never watched the XFiles or anything else with Gillian Anderson but after this show I get it. She is gorgeous and brings an intensity and magnetism to the role that should be envied by her peers.

I go back and forth on Jamie Dornan. Mostly I think he's fabulous in his role, but sometimes I'm underwhelmed.

I can't wait for the third season!

Honestly, Gillian Anderson's fake British accents makes me want to punch something. I think she peaked on the original X-files.

Fake? No, she is British and partly raised in the USA. The accent is for reals (as Holder in The Killing would say)

If you hear her interviewed she has a madonna Anglo/Brit accent. But her full on british accent is excellent.

It's amazing and I think they meant for you to dislike her at first and then bring you around to liking her. It's really well done, love it.

She's not British at all. She spent elementary school in England, but returned to the US at age nine (I believe). Her parents are American. So her accent is pretty believable, but still fake.
