Leaked documents reveal that Dothan, Alabama cops planted drugs on blacks for years and years and put hundreds of blacks behind bars for no reason other than racism - and were members of a racist neoconfederate organization...

| Somehow someway folks on here still are going to argue that it's black men's fault. |
No, today's racist blames the press for race-baiting, describes the politicians who condemn it as "divisive", google around to find reasons to label the perpetrators liberal, and when all else fails say why aren't they focused on black on black violence? |
| Sadly not surprising at all. |
| Marion Barry's passed on, so there's one fewer racist. |
Marion Barry wasn't responsible for jailing innocent people. But I keep wondering, what did he do to YOU? Hardly anyone knows who he is anymore, yet you post about him 2-5 times per day. He's like the Taylor Swift of the politics forum, popping up no matter where you look. |

I am black, and more concerned about the evidence planting to convict anyone, regardless of race. I hope we can all agree that it is unlikely that this is the ONLY police force in the nation that ever did anything like this.
Anyway, it is not new, the South in particular has a long history of incarcerating black men for profit. Another issue is the dumb ridiculous mandatory sentences that make it so easy to screw up someone's life by planting drugs. It is not just the US that has overly aggressive laws like this. I know that there are countries where drug possession and distribution are punishable by death (primitive). That is a set up for someone who wants to just destroy anyone else's life. Dumb policy. |
| That is horrible. Every one of those men should be locked up for life... hopefully with real convicts who will beat the shit out of them daily. |
| Those men should go to jail for life and should have to pay reparations. And people should be working around the clock to get their victims released immediately. |
| Gotta tell you, DCUM is a broken record these days. How to make people numb to issues that should matter? Keep at it and keep at it and keep at it.... |
So don't post this story because reading it makes you numb to racism? |
You sound like a person in denial, like someone who still thinks it's legitimate to cling to a confederate flag and say "heritage, not hate" and deny that racism exists or that the confederate flag has anything to do it. Sorry, no. Have to keep at it until the problems go away. They don't go away by you merely tuning them out. If inconvenient truth offends your sensibilities, too bad. |

I saw this yesterday and TBH, I do not think your thread title does this issue justice.
This is not just about racism - this is about the havoc that racists with power can wreak. It is also about why minorities do not trust the police and do not hold them in the high regard that others do. They KNOW there are crooked cops policing in these communities because they deal with the,m every day. |
| I was going to start a post about this, OP, but I'm glad you beat me to the punch. I really hope this story picks up some national attention, because it's truly abhorrent. A lot of the racist cops and lawyers who were part of this are now in positions of power (the head of the state DHS, for example). I'm sure that the DCUM racist apologists are going to come out of the woodwork soon and start trying to justify what happened ("well I'm sure all of those AA kids who were framed must have been guilty of something, so I don't see any problem"). This story is insane. |
| Conservatives are in full-out hysteria over a few college students questioning policies and actions on their campuses, yet here is an actual racist police state run by a local government and conservatives think it is whining for anyone to comment on it. |
