How many kids in the classroom this coming Fall? |
17 |
This is a really important question for families with a child starting K next year, but for the publics, the actual answer can be guessed at but won't be known for sure until August. Not all families register in spring as the schools would like them to and families move into and out of the area over the many months before next September. This year, a fair number of families who were accepted at privates may also decide to go public because of the economy. Anyway, my point is to view this type of data with caution. |
Is this private school? That is a nice #. We got an estimate # of 26-28, we are going to the public school obviously. |
20, Taylor Elementary, public school in Arlington. |
MoCo public school. Oakland Terrace in Kensington. |
Yes, but that's going to be something like 170 K students divided up into 10 or so classes, right? I hear they'll all be together for lunch and recess, and I just can't envision how that is going to work. |
Fairfax County public - 17 (current school year) |
True. But I only hear good things about the school, have toured, etc. and the kindergarten wing is actually a really nice, bright space. The classrooms are surprisingly big.
Somehow they manage them all together at recess and lunch. There is space for them. |
Private - 16 |
My friend is a K teacher in public school. She always starts out w/ one number when she reports for school in August. Many more sign up before the first day. She always has at least 22 or 23. |
Fairfax County public school, full-day K class will be 18 in the fall |
Our public school has a maximum size of 18 for Kindergarten. If they have more students, they start another K class. |
Our school has a maximum too. I am not concerned. |
Private, ~24 |
