| I know they giving are lots of money to help the refugees, but why aren't they making more in? Most of at I read criticizes this decision, but does not explain why. |
|
OH my God I need coffee. Excuse my post that makes no sense. Also my keyboard keeps having issues.
Taking, not making they are giving |

Saudi Arabia cited their fear of terrorists infiltrating the refugees as a reason for accepting none of the refugees. ZERO.
Russia has formally granted asylum to three (3) families. 3. |
| Because Arabs don't help Arabs. Not in the abstract sense (If they don't know the family/the village etc). It's haut not a cultural thing for them yet. |

I have posted this previously in earlier threads, but in the wealthy Gulf states, the native population is normally a minority and jealously guards citizenship. They like to treat foreigners like the hired help that can be fired and sent packing whenever the urge strikes. The countries are also the primary funders of the conflict. Because of their involvement in the conflict, they are aware that it will not be resolved soon and, therefore, they will be stuck with any refugees they accept. The last thing they want to do is get stuck with a bunch of foreigners, especially if any Christians or Alawis happen to be among them.

Please explain the very large number of refugees Lebanon and Jordan have taken in. Egypt and Iraq also have taken in lesser numbers, but still many multiples of the 10,000 being discussed for the US. |
| They have cited security concerns. |
Jordan is the only country I know that has taken in Palestinian refugees. I don't know about Lebanon. I think this is a a little known fact. Middle East countries hate Israel and claim to support the Palestinian states, but with the exception of Jordan they don't actually support them. I'm not at all shocked they haven't accepted any Syrian refugees, based on their track record. |
| They aren't fools. |
| Because they think it is a security risk. Ummmm..... |
This. They are also often the source of the problems to begin with. Osama Bin Laden, if you recall, was a disgruntled Saudi. |
| Because they are selfish and treat the west as their bitch. And guess what? |
Yup...we love our cars and such. We would not be their bitch if were not so dependent on their money and oil. We talk a lot of shit...but we will let them walk right in here and buy our land (in the heart of our Capitial city no less) and our businesses. Yet, a foreign national cannot buy real estate in his own name in some of those countries. They know they can take almost any position they want and we will still want their oil and their money. |
Both Jordan and Lebanon took in large numbers of Palestinian refugees, and they have taken in large numbers of Syrian refugees. Both have a long history as havens for refugees, as does pre-WWII Palestine; all three took in large numbers of Armenian refugees in the early years of the last century, in addition to Circassians and Chechens. |
| To boil it down...Arabia was a word for a lot of tribal people in the Middle East and North Africa. Every tribe for themselves, kill other tribes that insult or otherwise threaten you. Just because they are Muslim does not mean they are brothers. |
