I can't believe there's no sock puppetry going on. At first the thread started off with back and forth discussion. The last pages of arguing over costumes and bashing URMs has got to be 2 or 3 folks. 19 pages is a lot even for the College Discussion forum. I think the record holder may have been the Asian discrimination thread which I think you locked.
This has turned into a one-sided puppet soap box. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/270/511338.page |
Surely 2 or 3 people talking eradicates the idea there is just sock puppetry occurring ?? |
No, everything about a thread used as a platform for a few people to express disdain about minorities. This has nothing to do with costumes and all about speaking an unpopular, right or wrong, topic on campus. The very people in that thread complaining about minority students at Yale and Missouri and how they should shut up but have no problem espousing their viewpoints, popular or unpopular.
You can regurgitate the same negative, nasty speech about URM over and over. That is the platform that's sickening. |
Opinions that are contrary to your own does not mean sock puppets or warrant shutting down. You are employing the same tactics of accusation of hypocrisy and racism just to shut down opinions contrary to your own. There are people discussing the deadline November 17 whether the administration will give in to the students demands. Your attempt at censorship is appalling. |
As I posters have suggested both here and in the thread itself, there doesn't appear to be sock puppeting. I only read the last two pages and didn't see posts that were especially offensive. If there are racist posts, please let me know because I won't tolerate those. But, if people are simply disagreeing with the students, then there is no reason to lock the thread.
