| I'm feeling a bit paranoid recently and wondering if an exterior camera would help. If you have exterior surveillance, does it help you feel safer? Which company do you use? |
| Yes, we set up our own. Makes me feel safer. |
| Um, no. We aren't crazy. |

We have the Arlo system from netgear. Good quality, wireless, can access from the cloud. Mainly we use it to check in on the help (when they arrive, leave, etc.) but it also gives some security peace of mind. Fairly affordable too.

| The truth is that you should not feel panic, I also came to this thread to know if anyone knows or knows of any remote surveillance system since I also have that constant fear that I cannot see around my home. |
|
| I have a ring camera that captures about 50 feet in front of my front door, but no other cameras. It was super easy to install myself and they have options for multiple cameras if that's what you need. |
Hello, even though the topic is very old, the truth is I will give you two tips, you would have opened a new one, it is the first and the second, the truth is that you could look for a security system or camera set in a qualified store, in my case I have come to recommend AJAX, because they say that it is good but the truth is I am not sure that since I live in an apartment I do not have a garden, but you could go reviewing and quoting which is the one that best suits your needs.

I use a Eufy cam that you can buy online. They are a reputable company that makes all kinds of different appliances and monitoring hardware. You basically set up a wifi hub in your house and then you can connect all kinds of different devices to it. I have one camera at my front door and another in my backyard. I have them to 1. let me know when packages/deliveries arrive and to capture any potential package theft, 2. monitor any potential damage or vandalism caused by kids who often run through my yard, 3. capture any potential damage to vehicles parked in our driveway.
This is the one I have: https://us.eufylife.com/collections/security/products/t8802 It's pretty cheap and I was shocked that the battery in each camera lasted for a full a year before I had to bring them in and recharge them |
NP. We had two packages stolen from our front porch and some serious issues with neighbors letting their dogs poop on our front yard where our young kids play - so that was the motivation behind getting them (not paranoia about our safety). We have two Eufy cameras. One just beside our front door that captures people approaching door and another above our garage that captures the driveway where we park and part of the front yard. Battery life will vary depending on how sensitive you set the motion detection. |
| Bumping this thread for updated thoughts. We currently have Cloud Cams inside but apparently they're being phased out so I need to start all over. Would like to add exterior cameras as part of this. Thanks in advance. |
| Yes. We have a Nest doorbell at the front door and two Nest camera floodlights, one at the top of the driveway and one in the backyard. |
Yikes. The "truth is" (that's 4 for those counting) you need to remember your meds. |
| Ring doorbell and a ring camera mounted on the soffit at the corner of the house pointing at the driveway. My walkway is 20 feet long and the doorbell couldn’t see the cars in the drive. |
