I think the article in Slate magazine is right that it is Amb Huntsman. He wants to distance himself from Trump. He loved McCain. He used a lot of the same words in other speeches.

Maybe someone at WaPo wrote it, for all we know. Why not?

Maybe read the whole thread and there are lots of reasons why not?

Even a Fox News regular says Trump is not fit for office:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/fox-news-analyst-goes-off-075409063.html

A.B. Stoddard, an associate editor at Real Clear Politics and a regular on the network... “It’s not his amorality, it’s his temperament. He’s impulsive and erratic. He changes his mind quickly. He lies frequently. He’s not judicious. And he’s not measured. And he doesn’t have the temperament for the hardest job on the planet.”

The GOP is turning on him because only a small portion of the population supports him. They are going to lose the mid-terms. They only back Trump when it’s in the own interest. The GOP will back a traitor.

Huntsman issued a denial.

Mark Felt issued a denial, too.

I’m no HR professional but it’s prob a bad sign when an employee writes an anonymous letter calling you a brain-dead asshole and you can’t even narrow it down to 100 people

Why in the world would they admit it?

Um, it WAS a newspaper that called the person in government who wrote the piece a "senior official."

Try again.

There's no better way to break people apart, divide and cause consternation between groups of people than stuff like this.

I wonder if China or Russia or Iran is planting agitation propaganda like this?

I put no faith in NY Times journalists to vet their sources.

You are just proving you,re an ignorant ass.

The NYT is not perfect, but I know several people who work there, and I can assure you they vet their sources completely and utterly. There is much they know about POTUS but do not publish because they could not confirm that information with three independent sources.

Sources do lie, but that’s not the fault of the NYT, which makes strenuous and diligent efforts to make certain their anonymous sources are telling the truth.

The POTUS lies on a daily basis. That is a fact, easily verified.

The NYT beats POTUS every day on veracity.

I don't GAF who you know there. You probably work there for all I know.

They're agenda driven whack jobs. They are not a legitimate news organization; they are the DNC backroom.

DP. The Slate piece addresses that. Agree with PP that the article makes a good argument for Huntsman as the author. Link here: https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/09/new-york-times-op-ed-anonymous-writer-trump.html
