It does matter, because if your DD was so exceptional that she should not be playing with play-ups then she would be on a FCV roster right now.

Spirit is a start-up and in general their older groups will never catch the head start that FCV had due to established ECNL rosters. You went to Spirit to get a foot in the door at a DA and you took advantage of the watered down player pool that got your kid on a roster in the first place.

Worry more about what your DD needs to do to improve and stop worrying about the roster. Also, if you want to strengthen the roster and bring in stronger players a good place to start is stop posting all your complaints here. You can't complain about talent not coming when all you do is run the club down on a public forum. All you are doing is pissing in your own drinking water.

Remember too that this WS parent is complaining because the play ups are taking time away from his DD who instead sits on the bench. That's the real complaint here...

1. Ahh no, nice try.
2. THESE WS parentS. Several posters have sounded in on this.

No, it doesn’t. What matters is at least being honest or be quiet. Posts like the one above about how WS is doing development and the others just care about winning are disingenuous. If you stop posting b.s., no one will have to fact check and correct you. Maybe I can live with them situation; maybe I can’t. But I won’t over-sell what’s going on. If WS hadn’t lost players on the U19 team, they wouldn’t have pulled so many from the U17 team. If that team still had its full roster, it would be stronger and it wouldn’t have any playing up. I’m not sure why 2 years in a row the 04 team is so big, but they could do without the playing up too. Those girls would be just as challenged in their own age group. Though maybe they wouldn’t have left McLean without it. As for the 3 year play up, she would have gotten plenty of challenge even on the 05 team. But again, fear of losing her to some other club...

Sorry, there is no lie here, they are developing. What are your qualifications to contradict their staff on who should play where?

NYC FC has a GNT U15 (rising U16) team on their team. And do you know where she plays? In her own age group, every year. FCV has one too. Do you know where she plays? In her own age group. RU has a GNT U14 (rising U15). Do you know where she plays? Yep, her own age group. Clearly they have and continue to get good development.

So much of a fetish that they want less game minutes for their kid? I don't think so, I think most parents outgrow the whole play-up thing by 13 or so. The whole play-up thing seems to be your fetish for sure though.

Anyone would tell you, read any number of articles on the web, and ask any number of objective coaches. If playing up is costing your kid a lot of game time, they are better of playing a lot of minutes in their own age group.

Again, worry about your DD and stop pouring over every other clubs rosters.

Oh, are we recycling that lame comeback again? Of course, must be that. It can’t be that I’m concerned about the watered down training environment or the watered down level of play or the black hole the passes go into when sent to a play up...

I was looking for a 3 year play-up on the weekend game reports, I didn't find one.

No one does that. Parents talk. They see a girl who is genuinely talented and they talk. You don’t have to be told these girls are good because you can see it.

Yeah, not sure if her mom didn’t want her traveling without her or the club didn’t roster her. Check the Cedar Stars game.

Wrong, she played with the 05's.

Who cares? WS parents seem to be happy with the club from what I can tell except you.

This isn't my fight but for the sake of accuracy, you might want to check the game report for the 04s vs. Cedar Stars.

I physically saw the 07 play with the 04s.

And you might want to check the game reports for this week. 3 games played and two were with 05's and 1 played with 04's. Playing closer to at age seems to be the trend don't you think?

Anonymous wrote:That may be their hope, but so far, it hasn't translated well. If a player can't hang onto the ball or even hardly ever touch the ball, they should probably go back down to their own age group.

However, with some rosters over-filled, I doubt WS-VA has a choice. When you have 25 on a roster, you have to try anything to make sure players are getting their game time and requisite number of starts. So they have to try to move a couple of players up if at all possible.
