CHIP expired 3 months ago. It could have been re-funded with a voice vote at any time. But no, McConnell had to use these kids and this program as a wedge.
Shameful. |
| So much for the art of the deal. |
| Even sh!thole countries don't shut down their governments. |
| So now they'll try for a CR until Feb 8? Isn't that more like a - reopen the gov't first vote since it's shut down right now? |
Uh yeah they do – military coups? |
Yup. He held it hostage to try and get his way. McConnell also could have had a clean vote on the Dreamers as well. But didn't. Again, he held the budget hostage. |
| So the GOP is gambling on voters blaming the Democrats for this $hitshow? |
yep, we'll see how well it worked in November |
Would have been more effective if Dems hasn’t crossed over to vote with Rs and some Rs hadn’t no. The but we need Dems to cooperate point is moot if they have 51seats, and can’t even get 50 votes. This would have failed even a simple majority vote in the Senate, which are control. |

It's 1:30 AM. Do you know where your goobermint is?
Yes, it's been put to bed. |

It is sad that some illegals cause such inconvenience (understatement) to legal residents. The sign of the times, I guess.
|
I don’t follow. Most of the GOP Congress people are legal as far as I know. |
| So fitting that Trump should mark the anniversary of his first year in office with an a shut down of the government. |
Just goes to show who the Dems care about. Forget about the current citizens in need (soldiers, vets, homeless), we gotta get non-citizens in through DACA so they can vote Dem. |
