Would you stay home or take your 8 month old to daycare with the following scenario:
Fever Friday evening to Saturday night. Projectile vomiting both of those nights. Sunday morning he woke up without a fever, but just refuses to eat. I think his throat irritates him because he cries when he coughs. My only concern of taking him is that he only drank milk at 10 am and 8 pm today. I take it that he's still not well for that reason. I will obviously call his doctor in the morning, but wwyd? |
Would not take him and I'm pretty lenient about this stuff.
Yes, you could infect other young kids or the caregivers who may only get paid if they work. Be considerate and keep your sick kid home.
I'd take him to the doctor tomorrow. Sometimes kids vomit when they have strep. I'd also be worried about dehydration.
Don't send a sick child to daycare please, this is just crazy.

Op here. Sorry I should have mention he's fever free since Saturday night. He's not been fussy today. He's only refused to eat and cried when he coughed.
I've been in contact with with the oncall doctor and have been monitoring wet diapers. Somehow he's been peeing. |
Do not take him.
I would not take him
You did mention that in your OP. Don't take him to daycare. |
Nope. Start making whatever arrangements you need to make.
He needs extra attention than usual. Stay home and monitor the situation. Sounds like he might be ready Tuesday.
He's not himself. Stay home.
One more day at home tomorrow to fully recuperate will make a world of difference to your baby.
Even though it has been said before, just keep the poor child at home tomorrow. You will not be doing anyone any favors when the other children in his daycare room get sick and the care givers too. Be sensible, please!
Yes I would. He does not have a fever or is vomiting for over 24hrs.
