Admitting to popular movies that I haven't seen...what else should I watch?

Hello my name is "Carol" and I haven't seen Ghostbusters. Or Back to the Future. I'm so embarrassed. Now that it's dark and cold at night, I'd like to start watching some "classics" and maybe begin to catch up with the rest of the world and stop pretending to understanding pop culture movie references.

Any other suggestions? Nothing scary or brutal violence (Exorcist and Godfather are classics, but I won't watch those.)
