| I hosted an Oktoberfest party for our neighborhood and noticed that a few of my Jewish friends didn't attend and were kind of quiet with me last time I saw them. DH and I aren't German, but we did the traditional German beer, food, etc. Maybe it's coincidental that they were busy and it's my imagination. Hope this is the case as I'd never want to offend them. |
| Then they're overly sensitive and not your true friends. |
| Why does it matter that you are not German or of German heritage? German =/= Nazi. It is really offensive to suggest it. |
|
Nope. Nothing offensive there.

My grandmother was actually in a concentration camp and I can't find anything to be offended about here.
I love Oktoberfest. Maybe it was they are German and wondering why you are celebrating it so late? |
You needed to drink a little more beer and relax. Your Jewish friends may all avoid you for some common reason, but it's not your Oktoberfest party.
|
| Not offensive, but not everyone likes that disgusting German food. |
| Not offensive. Coincidence. |

What the hell? Germany is such a beautiful country. I really find it bizarre that we mar that entire country with something (completely horrific) that happened 75 years ago.
Obviously the holocaust was catastrophically awful, but plenty of countries have done horrible things. No one would be afraid of getting Mongolian barbecue because of an association with Genghis Khan, for example. Anyone who would get offended by your party is nuts. |

| Is this a troll? |
| No. |
| Many Jews are German. |
| I'm German and of Jewish lineage. Nothing wrong with celebrating harvests and beer. |
Maybe they were offended by her party, but not the Jewish/German thing. |
