Yes it was analyzed maybe 150 pages ago? People said it was basic Spanish and didn’t flow like a native speaker. I believe her brother speaks pretty good Spanish because he actually lives in Spain and probably speaks it daily with his actual Spanish wife- even though Mallorca is a super touristy island with package deals for like $30 flights on budget airlines so everyone speaks English.

I am not at all surprised that he is practiced in attacking others, calling them the "offender", and spinning the story/ies to his advantage, no matter how blatantly obvious he was in the wrong. At all.

I’m not a native Spanish speaker but live in LA so I speak Spanish. Her brother pretty much speaks like I do, basic tenses and grammar. The gist of the translation is that he tells her he went to her Instagram and saw what she posted (the video) and supports her. He said she doesn’t have to explain anything to anyone and that she is is girl who was born in Boston but raised in two cultures. He said that aside from a few comments the reaction to her (on the video) is positive and that people say she doesn’t need to explain anything. He’s basically just generally supportive and tells her he loves her a lot.

After his lovely private text, she posted it to Instagram for the world to see.

Thanks for this! I seem to recall when this was discussed (which I still can’t find) was some verb tenses not making sense and that he was spelling words out that would usually be abbreviated. Nothing horrible - just wanted to see if I recalled that correctly!!

LA poster again- I grew up with German parents and studied German in school, so the way I speak German is very different from the Spanish I learned living in LA. I speak Spanish and French, but only because I learned it from speaking it, not from extensive studies or school if that makes sense? The way her brother speaks Spanish is like my Spanish, it’s written like a person who learned from speaking and not studying or from a native speaker growing up. I learned French from living in France and Spanish from living in LA, but my grammar is nothing like German because that’s a language I really studied and we spoke at home. His Spanish is good, but it’s like mine- not complicated verbs or tenses and overall basic.

I’m still confused - there are plenty of videos of her after marrying Alec in which she doesn’t use a fake Spanish accent. She just sounds completely American. When did she start using the accent? It’s so strange because obviously Alex married the American Hilary Thomas, no accent, etc. Didn’t he find it weird when years after that, she started using an accent??
