Virtual hug!!

I am sure it will be OK. That is an affluent area they are sure to have an adequate way to deal with the weather.

We had things like this occur in college. If she's a smart cookie she banded together with friends. She'll be alright, mom!

She'll be ok, mama! Kids are more resilient than we give them credit for

Hopefully FEMA will be delayed and not screw things up more before the waters recede. It's a once in 1000 year storm but the state and local officials are well equipped to handle it.

Times like these bring out the best in terms of people helping each other. She'll be OK. Sending hugs.

Op here. I am worried about disease, mold, lack of clean water, stupid kids not realizing a curfew is serious, them running out of food on campus, restaurants not following the boil water rule, aauuugggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am a mess

Deep breaths! None of these things are likely to come to fruition. They *might* but won't. She will be healthy, helpful, be helped, and be safe. It will be ok!

Is it n on campus apartment? college-managed complex?

Op sorry but I find it hard to get worked up over your situation. My entire family , including elderly relatives are there. College kids will be fine

OP here- 20:11, I hope your relatives are ok. Also, F off. I am worried about my kid and rightfully so.

To everyone else, thank you. I'm sure she will be ok. Lol one of my friends added to my worry list tho- Alligators.

She is on the 3rd floor and a sensible girl.

which is a whole lot different from a college student who has no idea of the lay of the land....I'm positive OP would have a different level of anxiety if her DD were in the GWU dorms 4 miles from home

That's quite hilarious, OP. I would be worried too, but honestly there is a great probability she will be fine. Try and get some sleep. Hugs to you and your daughter.
